Predoctoral Research Assistant for the Telomeres and Telomerase Group

The Telomeres and Telomerase Group, within the Molecular Oncology Programme, is seeking a Predoctoral Research Assistant.

Se Requiere

- MSc in molecular biology, obtained no before than 2014 (2.5 or higher). BSc in Biology, Spanish GPA System 2.4 or higher.
- Required research experience in previous laboratories.
- Experience in experimental techniques for the analysis and manipulation of RNA and telomere lenght.
- Familiarised with protocols routinarily used in Biochemical research: western blot, qPCR, RNA-dot blot, cell inmunofluorescence and probe design and elaboration.
- Expertise in cell culture of cancer cell lines and stem cells.
- Working experience with long non coding RNA, best if it is with TERRA.
- Knowledge in bacteria manipulation and cloning.
- Technical skills:
• Required: Experience with techniques for TERRA analysis including qPRC, RNA-dot blot, Northern blot and RNA-FISH. Experience with biological databases and genome browsers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ImageJ and Photoshop.
• Highly desirable: Cells and tissue Immunofluorescence, Confocal Cells Immunofluorescence, cell staining and Confocal Microscopy. Cell lines culture. Bacteria culture, manipulation and cloning. Experienced with the CRISPR-Cas9 system, gRNA design and transfection/electroporation techniques. Protein, RNA and DNA analysis.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
