A postdoctoral position is available for a project aimed at identifying genetic and non-genetic risk factors for pancreatic and bladder cancers using the resources of large international studies. The position involves work on studies related to molecular cancer epidemiology, environmental markers including epigenomics and metagenomics, as well as genetic variation. In collaboration with other investigators, the postholder will take responsibilities in preparation of grant applications, supervision of PhD students, statistical analysis of complex data, and project management. Contributions to multiple publications and development of new research ideas are expected from the postholder as a result of a pro-active participation in the projects led by the Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology (GME) Group, Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Madrid. This is an international cancer research centre of excellence with an active and stimulating working environment with a multidisciplinary approach to cancer research.
Se Requiere
- Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, statistics, genetics, nutrition, medicine, or a related discipline.
- Experience in the use of environmental markers in epidemiological research.
- Experience in cancer area is advisable.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data handling.
- Knowledge in biochemical techniques.
- Experience of handling large data sets.
- Excellent knowledge of English.
- Proven ability to organize research activities and to write scientific papers.
- Strong communication skills.
- Availability for travelling.
