A stable position for a high-qualified scientist is offered to play a full and active role in the academic life of the Group. Among the duties & responsibilities of the position are:
- Serve as a lead person for providing in-depth methodological and analytical assistance in areas including epidemiology, genetics, statistics, and public health.
- Lead coordination of the ongoing studies of the Group with Dr. Malats and other researchers of the Group.
- Independently carrying out research projects (design, conduct, analyze, and draw conclusions) in related areas of interest of the Group.
- Write first authored peer reviewed journal articles and work as part of authorship team to write and publish scientific papers describing research findings.
- Contribute to the development and preparation of grant proposals.
- Serve as a liaison to the National and International collaborators of the Group.
- Act as a mentor of other members from the Group, specially graduate and postdoc students.
- Delivering occasional lectures to graduate and master courses.
- Participate actively in the scientific life of the group, program and centre.
- Carry out related assignments as designated.
Se Requiere
- PhD degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in epidemiology, preferably cancer or genetics research or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent analytical and computer skills; knowledge of statistical software packages.
- Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills; self-initiating; ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong team spirit, excellent communication skills in English in an international environment.
