The Text Mining Unit of the CNIO/MINETUR (TeMUC) is funded through the Plan de Impulso de las Tecnologías del Lenguaje de la Agenda Digital, by the Secretary of State of Telecommunications and the Information. It is the first publicly funded text mining unit in Spain and has the aim to promote the development of natural language processing and machine translation resources for Spanish and other co-official languages in the area of biomedicine. We search for a junior technical researcher in medical informatics, natural language processing (NLP) or language engineering with experience in semantic and/or linguistic resources preferable related to health or biomedicine.
We search for a junior technical researcher in medical informatics, natural language processing (NLP) or language engineering with experience in semantic and/or linguistic resources preferable related to health or biomedicine to collaborate in the development of functional and interoperability specifications and the implementation of registries and catalogues.
Se Requiere
• Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, statistics, telecommunications or equivalent.
• Additional training in natural language processing, text mining, information retrieval or computational linguistics.
• A minimum of four years working experience in NLP.
• Previous work in the domain of biomedicine and processing of Spanish documents is desirable.
• Demonstrated record in NLP application design and development.
• Solid knowledge of existing open source NLP tools, libraries, and corpora.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Training in linguistics will be a plus.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
