Advanced Degree for the Bioinformatics Unit

The Bioinformatics Unit (BU) within the Structural Biology Programme is seeking to recruit a Systems Administrator position to assist in the managing, maintaining, and monitoring of our scientific computing servers, storage environment and associated systems. As part of a team this candidate will work within a research environment that includes computing servers and related applications for scientific purposes. He or She will be also involved in the development of Bioinformatics Unit Software.

Se Requiere

- Computer Science or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the Bioinformatics field.
- Experience with GNU/Linux cluster environments. - Strong programming skills (Perl/Python, php R, C, C++, Full Stack Javascript Developer,) with javascript frameworks like ReactJS, NodeJS and experience with libraries like D3JS, ThreeJS and WebGL.
- Background in bioinformatics, molecular biology and genomics.
- Expertise in developing bioinformatics tools for analyzing and familiarity with widely used genomic databases and software.
- Practical experience with Virtualization using Virtualbox, Linux Containers, Xen, Docker.
- Practical experience with MySQL, Postgres and other no-sql databases like Elasticsearch and MongoDB.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English required.
- Experience in team’s coordination and ability to perform collaborative research in a highly multi-disciplinary environment (molecular biologists, medical doctors, computer scientists, and technical staff).
